When moving your vehicle internationally, itβs important to consider protecting your investment with Transit Insurance. While modern shipping is very safe, damage or loss can occur β and even a minor incident can result in thousands of dollars in costs.
The Reality of Shipping Risks
Global studies estimate that $30β50 billion is lost every year due to cargo damage and transit-related incidents. Even the safest carriers are subject to risks beyond their control, such as:
- π§οΈ Severe weather conditions
- π Natural disasters
- βοΈ Mechanical failure
- π§ Human error
- π¦ Multiple handling points during transit

Coverage begins the moment we take possession of your vehicle (either via pickup or depot drop-off), and ends when the vehicle is either:
- Delivered to you, or
- Collected by a transporter arranged by you (coverage ends when they take possession)
Policy Pricing
- Premium: 1.75% of your nominated vehicle value plus freight charges
- Minimum premium: AUD 455
- Excess: AUD 500
(Note: The excess is not paid upfront β itβs deducted from any approved claim payout)
